Lobby, Hall and Porch

The lobby has wooden floor and ceiling and from this lead the doors to the kitchen, toilet, bathroom and utility room. Here also is the cupboard containg the conveniently located electricity meter and consumer units for the kirk and the garage. Under this wooden floor and right around the hall run copper pipes which carry warm water from the solar panels outside. This is free energy and makes a small contribution to warming the building. Lighting is from side lights which are fitted with energy saving bulbs.

From the hall two large wooden doors lead into the porch which  is stone built and pointed inside with llime mortar. the arched window has stained glass units and two 36 inch doors lead out from the sides. The floor is of Caithness flags.
